July 21-25 2025

University of Victoria, Victoria, BC

Ages 7-11

Young Composer Camp was an awesome week of discovering, learning, and creating music. We learned many different ways to create rhythm, melody, and harmony. Through games, creative activities and individual assignments, every student created something that was uniquely theirs.

The mornings would be filled with games and activities for the students to do together to learn how to create musical ideas. The afternoons would be filled with lessons on how to notate and record their musical ideas, both individually and as a group. The week culminated in a recital where the students showcased their work as small piano compositions, one collaborative composition, and one song we made with Garage Band. It was an awesome week!
